Safety Pharmacology Studies

Safety Pharmacology Studies

We are able to conduct various studies including safety pharmacology studies on pharmaceuticals and regenerative medicine products, etc. under various GLP and/or guidelines. Most of our animal laboratory technicians are qualified as junior or senior laboratory animal technicians or JACL certified technicians, and have highly reliable technique based on abundant experience and quick and detailed analysis ability.

Safety pharmacology studies of pharmaceuticals

Safety pharmacology core battery

Central nervous system
  • Effect on general condition and behavior (Irwin's method/FOB)
  • Effect on body temperature
Cardiovascular system
  • Effect on blood pressure, heart rate, and ECG in conscious and unrestrained animals (Telemetry method)
  • Effect on Ikr current (whole cell/patch clamp method; hERG transduced cells) (room temperature or 37℃)
Respiratory system
  • Effect on the respiratory rate and tidal volume in conscious and unrestrained animals (Whole Body Plethysmography)
  • Effect on the respiratory rate and arterial oxygen saturation (pulse oximeter) in conscious and unrestrained animals

* To comply with safety pharmacology studies on regenerative medicine products, effects on the central nervous system (Irwin's method), blood pressure and heart rate (tail cuff method) and respiratory function (whole body plethysmography) can be evaluated using NOG mice and NOD SCID mice.
